All Natural Strawberry Basil Pops

What's summer without popsicles? Get your popsicle molds ready because I plan to post many all-natural recipes this summer that are sure to please your entire family.

I love popsicles, and so do my children, but I don't love the artificial colorings and tons of sugar in them. Let's face it--most popsicles are just dyed sugar water that has been frozen. Although they taste good (sometimes), they have absolutely zero nutritional value. Even the ones that are supposedly "all fruit" usually have added sugar and suspicious ingredients (read your box labels, and you'll be surprised!)

Here's a recipe that contains absolutely no added sugar (a ripe banana gives a little natural sweetness), and the basil adds an interesting little flavor that is a step up from "red dye #40" for your mini-foodies.

All Natural Strawberry Basil Pops Print Friendly and PDF
Yield: 4-6 pops, depending on the size of your popsicle molds


1 ripe banana
1 1/2 c fresh strawberries, diced
2 large fresh basil leaves
1/2 c water


1. Place all ingredients into blender and puree.
2. Pour into popsicle molds and freeze.

Ta-da! This recipe couldn't be simpler. If you end up with more puree than you need, drink the extra as a smoothie (add a little water to thin it if you like). My kids love to do this, and it makes the wait while the pops freeze a little less agonizing!
